The Shuffle Demons Christmas
Wednesday December 1st, 8:00 pm
Over a twenty five year span, The Shuffle Demons have been genre-bending with an electrifying musical fusion that is visually entertaining, funny and - best of all - they can really play! Their no-holds-barred style features wild romps in the crowd, free jazz moments, danceable funk, poetry, killer solos and much, much, more!
"The Demons captured this reawakened festival perfectly, mixing their beatnik shtick and dashiki threads with genuinely funky, good-time sounds that put thousands at the foot of their stage in a solid mood to party." ~ The Ottawa Citizen "The first thing you notice (aout the Shuffle Demons) is the regalia. The second thing you notice, very quickly, is the music. These guys can play -bebop, TV and movie themes, rock classics and originals, all done with a vivacious sense of style!" ~ MARK MILLER, The Globe and Mail

NIkki Yanofsky
Thursday January 20th, 8:00 pm
Nikki Yanofsky is a 16-year-old musical prodigy. Since her debut at the 2006 Montreal International Jazz Festival, to her appearance at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games held in Vancouver, Nikki has quickly matured as a live singing sensation showing her love for Ella Fitzgerald and jazz!
". . .a natural-born entertainer, Yanofsky wowed the Montreal Jazz Festival at age 12 and toured with Marvin Hamlisch at 14." ~ BEN KAPLAN, National Post "Nikki Yanofsky has a habit of astonishing people. Usually this is how it happens: first, she boundsonstage in a club or a theatre, a petite teenage gamine in front of a greying, paunchy all-male jazz combo. She then snaps her fingers and counts off the introduction to a jazz standard. The moment her voice rings out, the venue echoes with the sound of dropping jaws. . .The jazz world has celebrated many a prodigy, but none has been met with this much unanimous adulation or hope since Wynton Marsalis drew his first raves in the early '80s." ~ MIKE DOHERTY, Macleans
